The Best Western provided grab-and-go breakfast that we could take back to the room. I had to take several trips down to the lobby to pick up enough food and coffee for my family back at the room.

With the family fed, we could continue packed all our bags back into the car, which was charged to full overnight at the Tesla charger.

Our first stop was in Elko. I had in mind that all of us would have lunch here now. We went to the Round Table Pizza, which opened at 11 am, and I had a personal-sized King Arthur's Supreme, but my family didn't seem hungry, so they simply had drinks after a bathroom break. Bathroom Anxiety

Entering Lamoille Canyon
On this trip I wanted there to be at least one place for my family to see each day, rather than just drive-and-go. When I researched online for Nevada, the Scenic Byway to Lamoille Canyon was at the top of many lists with words like "the wettest place in Nevada", so it sounded interesting to see.

As we climbed to the top at 8800-foot altitude, it was definitely wet and green and beautiful. If we had more time I think it would be fun to hike around here.
But one of the first items of business when we arrived was another bathroom break. Bathroom Anxiety

You wouldn't know this is Nevada

We explored the several nearby trailheads and found several very pretty places. The place was as promised, the most green part of Nevada we've ever seen. I learned there were several lakes and campgrounds up here. It is definitely not the kind of attraction you would expect in Nevada. I wonder what it looks like in the winter.

On the way back we stopped by some scenic points, including a place where two glacier-cut canyons merged into one.

Upon our return to Elko, we stocked up at the local Raley's on food and drink, including sandwiches to eat both this day and the next. Meanwhile my daughter and I enjoyed some frozen yogurt at the Spoon Me here. The rest of the family was finally hungry enough to have lunch, which they ate in the car on the next leg of travel, this time into Idaho.

Blue Lakes Inn is a member of the Tesla Destination Network in Twin Falls, Idaho. We checked in with no problem, then found Tomato's Italian Grill, a fun restaurant with dine-in service and excellent food. We enjoyed dinner then came back to the hotel to rest. I plugged in the car, then went to enjoy the pool, and returned to the room to join my family for the night.
